Lymph
Drainage Therapy involves the use of
gentle manual techniques
to assist in the circulation of fluid throughout the body.
The
amount of pressure used depends on the area and pathology involved,
but generally the pressure is about the weight of a nickel,
LDT works on
the lymphatic system, assisting it to drain fluids, detoxify, regenerate
tissues,
and filter out toxins and foreign substances in order to
maintain a healthy immune system.
Benefits
include reduction of edema, cleansing of toxins, regeneration of
tissues from scars (performed pre- and/or post-surgically) and burns,
reduction of chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia symptoms, relief from
spasms, and alleviation of wrinkles, among others.

Treating Brain Trauma is very gentle technique done with the client fully clothed. The work is done to the entire central nervous system (the brain and the spinal cord), working on the head and spine.
This work can benefit anyone who has suffered some type of trauma to the head: such as, birth trauma, a concussion, hitting your head when you fall, being hit in the head or face by an object, or surgery. Since the brain controls all of our functions, this work is beneficial for many disorders: balance, vision, hearing, sleep, memory, body temperature control problems, to mention just a few.

Swedish
massage is the most common form of
massage.
It is used
primarily for relaxation. Swedish also eases muscles
aches and pains.
Deep Tissue massage works more slowly
than Swedish on specific tendons, ligaments
and muscles. It is useful in treating chronic pain, inflammation
and injury.
The pressure involved is
moderate to heavy, but not exceeding "comfortable or beneficial
pain".
-Myofascial
massage
works on the connective tissue called fascia
that is interconnected to every other part of the body.
Fascia
actually helps support the body's
very structure, including the musculoskeletal system. Fascia
can become tight and cause pain and/or restrict
range of motion.
Myofascial strokes
are very slow with varying pressure.

Both
Deep Tissue and Myofascial
techinques are often integrated into a Swedish
massage. |
